Jakob Mache

Jakob Mache is research and teaching assistant at the chair of Stefan Müller. He is currently working on his dissertation on Grammaticalisation of Epistemic Modals in German . Undertaking numerous visiting scholarships an conference trips, Jakob Mache has been active in seven countries, notably Portugal and France. On this photograph, however, you can see him slightly below the Summit of Reason , picture taken at the Lofoten on the occasion of the 30th Colloquium of the Generative Linguistits in the Old World (GLOW) in 2007.

In teaching and research, Jakob Mache currently focusses on the following issues:

• formal theories of grammar (HPSG, GB, MP, LFG)
• the grammar of German
• language change and grammaticalisation
• second language acquisition seen from grammar theoretic perspective
